Choir at St Paul's Convent

21 July 2010

Before school closed for the summer holidays, our School Choir once again travelled by coach to Selly Park to sing a selection of songs from the Sound of Music, plus Somewhere over the Rainbow from the Wizard of Oz and a couple of Irish Songs.

At the end of the concert the children sang Happy Birthday to Sister Margaret who is celebrating her hundredth birthday next month and spoke to the Sisters and gave them an up-date since our visit in March.

The Deputy Matron thanked the children for coming to entertain the sisters.

We received a thank you letter from one of the sisters:

"I am writing to tell you how much the sisters enjoyed the entertainment given yesterday. Many of them had been teachers themselves and knew how much effort and practice had gone into bringing them to the excellence they showed. It was evident that they themselves enjoyed singing and that added to their performance. We were also impressed by their discipline and good manners and look forward to seeing them again".
