First Holy Communion

17 June 2012

Jesus took a piece of bread, gave thanks to God, broke it, and gave it to them saying, 'This is my body which is given for you. Do this in memory of me.'
Luke 22:19

On Sunday 17th June, the children in Year 3 from our school received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion on the Feast of Corpus Christi.

Father John the main celebrant, led the Mass in a prayerful and joyful way. Family and friends joined members of the school and parish community to celebrate this joyous occasion in St Thomas More Church.

The children responded during the Mass with confidence as well as singing their hearts out, praising God.

After the children had received the Body and Blood of Jesus they went onto the sanctuary and sang in harmony, the hymn 'Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.
