Harvest Mass

4 October 2013

"Celebrate the harvest festival to honour the Lord your God, be joyful in the Lord's presence."
Deuteronomy 16:10-11

Year 5 led our annual Harvest Mass on Friday, 4th October 2013 on the Feast of St Francis Assisi and CAFOD family fast day.

At the start of the Mass, Father John blessed the wonderful Gardens of Eden that Year 5 had made during their RE Inspire Workshop held earlier in the term. We were very pleased that the children's parents could join them for this special blessing.

Families were very generous in their donations of food for the homeless people of our city. Sister Sabina and Kitty 0'Reilly received the gifts on behalf of the Fireside Centre and told the children about how many people they are able to feed each day. They look forward to coming to our Harvest Mass every year because of the way all our children participate in the Mass and to listen our beautiful singing, praising God.
