May Procession

18 May 2012

The Angel Gabriel came to Mary and said, "Peace be with you! The Lord is with you and has greatly blessed you." Luke 1:28

Prayerfully, everyone assembled together in our school hall waiting for our annual May Procession to begin.

We listened to the story of the Annunciation from St Luke's Gospel and then sang Mary's song of praise the "Magnificat." Children from Year 6 then carried a statue of Mary around the school grounds and into the Church.

During the procession we sang hymns to Mary and prayed the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary. Reception children carried their special paintings of Mary and some beautiful flowers. A Year 6 girl had the honour of placing a crown of flowers onto Mary's head.

Our celebration in honour of Mary our Mother finished with Benediction.
