Remembrance Day Preparation

7 November 2013

As part of Year 4's preparation for Remembrance Day we were lucky to have very special visitors come into class and talk about their role within the armed forces. Head of Nursing Sister Felicity Campbell and Chaplain Padre Daniel took time out of their busy schedule at the QE hospital in Birmingham to talk about their job, and calling, and answer questions from the children in Year 4.

The children each made a card of thanks for the brave and courageous actions of all the soldiers that are in the Military Ward in the QE hospital, Fisher House (the Family accommodation), Headley Court (Rehabilitation Centre) and the Royal Star and Garter (Nursing home). Along with the cards we donated sweets and biscuits and a Prayer Booklet which was very gratefully received.

Sr Felicity and Padre Daniel talked about their important roles and experiences in giving us all a much better understanding of how the injured soldiers are helped and supported by the military.
