St Thomas More Feast Day

22 June 2010

On Tuesday 22nd June 2010 our whole school community gathered together to celebrate the feast day of St Thomas More.

Our day began with the whole school community including governors, joining with our Parish Community for a special celebration of Mass. Staff and pupils in costume,  shared an echo story of the life of St Thomas More. Several Parishioners shared with us how much they enjoyed this special Mass and thanked us for our contribution.

Back in school, each class spent the remainder of the morning learning about a different aspect of St Thomas More's life before pupils and staff gathered together on the grass to share a picnic in the glorious sunshine. Following our special picnic lunch, pupils spent an afternoon participating in a whole range of different games and activities organised by the staff.

Our feast day celebrations ended with Benediction, where once again we were joined by a number of families and members of the Parish Community to give thanks for St Thomas More.

This year for the first time ever, we established a link with another St Thomas More School on the other side of the world in Adelaide, Australia. Both schools exchanged details of our feast day celebrations and we also received a St Thomas More Feast Day greeting from some of their staff and pupils. Please click on the link below to listen to this special greeting.
