St Thomas More Feast Day

22 June 2009

On Monday 22nd June 2009 our whole school community gathered together to celebrate the feast day of St. Thomas More.

During the morning, each class worked on researching and learning about a different stage in the life of St. Thomas More. At 11.00am, the whole school community including governors, joined together with our Parish Community for a special celebration of Mass. During the Mass, teachers and their classes led an echo story to share the life of St. Thomas More. Many parishioners commented on how much they enjoyed this.

The celebrations continued on into the afternoon with a picnic on the grass, followed by a range of fun games and activities organised by the staff.

The highlight of the afternoon's celebrations was a 'St. Thomas More's got the X Factor' competition where children from each year group enjoyed sharing their singing talents with a very excited audience. Thank you to everyone who participated in the competition and well done to our winners.

Foundation and Key Stage One winners from the Reception Class singing Alesha Dixon's 'The Boy does nothing.' Our Key Stage Two winner was from Year 5 singing and playing the guitar to 4 Non-Blondes 'Hey, what's going on?'
