Jesus went out carrying his cross and came to the place of the skull called Golgotha.’ John 19:17
During Lent Year 5 learnt about the Stations of the Cross; a very significant way tradition in the Catholic Church, that teaches us about Jesus’ journey and struggle when he was condemned to death, as well as his final and ultimate sacrifice.
Pupils worked hard in small groups of three or four to research, plan and reflect on their station, before creating their own reflections, artwork and prayers to represent one of the 14 stations.
It was a very prayerful and reverent occasion, which allowed the children to further develop their understanding of the Stations.
Parents commented on how pupils were very respectful and that the readings, prayers, drama and music were performed in a prayerful way.
A lovely reflection during Holy Week.
