During the month of October the children in the Catholic Life Group planned a number of services and events to help the children in our school appreciate the role of Mary and to pray the Rosary more frequently.
On the 7th of October, the Feast of the Holy Rosary, the children had the opportunity to go to the Prayer Garden at lunchtime to discuss the life of Mary. It was open to all children throughout the school and the younger children were supported by the older children through questioning and explaining the different images of Mary to them. They had the opportunity to write a prayer to Mary and say the Rosary together.
Each class said a decade of the Rosary on this special day and placed flowers around the statue of Mary in the Prayer Garden.
Twenty children from Key Stage 2 came to a Rosary Making Workshop after school. Each child made two rosaries, one for themselves and the other for housebound parishioners.
On the 16th of October the Catholic Life Group led a Rosary Prayer Service for the whole school and invited members of the Thursday Club to come and pray with us. This was a beautiful service, appreciated by all.
