Year 1 RE Inspire Workshop

27 April 2018

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; for He has risen, just as he said."
(Matthew 28:5-6)

Children in Year 1 have been learning about the importance of the Easter season in the Church’s year. As part of their learning they found out about the Paschal Candle and what its symbols represent.

Pupils invited family members to join them to make their own Paschal Candle. We used card, paper, decorative flowers, pins and an Alpha and Omega symbol to show God’s love never ends., to construct our candles. They were placed on our Easter prayer focus area back in our classrooms.

We had a wonderful time creating our candles and were very proud of our work and the support we received.

Our workshop ended with a beautiful prayer that helped us reflect on the true meaning of Easter.
