"Do not be afraid. I know you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, he has been raised from the dead just as he said." Matthew 28:3
On Friday 2nd May all of the Year 2 children participated in an RE Inspire Workshop to celebrate this special Easter season. The children worked with a family member to make a traditional Easter Garden.
First, the children brought in an empty shoe box and after looking at some Easter Gardens made in previous years, they began to design their own. Children used felt and tissue paper to create the grass and sky and then began to add detail. The children's gardens included three crosses and an empty tomb to commemorate Christ's sacrifice and celebrate his Resurrection. Finally they decorated the gardens with symbols of new life such as flowers, plants, chicks, and eggs.
We were amazed to see so many beautiful and creative finished products and were impressed with all the hard work done by parents and children.
Once the children finished their Easter Gardens, they discussed aspects of the workshop they had enjoyed with their parents.
"It was very exciting and lots of fun".
"I really enjoyed my day. It brought out my artistic side".
"I enjoyed my Mum coming into school and helping me. I had lots of fun".
