Year 5 were offered the opportunity to take part in the Science of Sound Workshop at the Birmingham Symphony Hall. To utilize the time effectively, we then decided to visit the Council House and Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. Wow, what a busy day!
While at the Science Workshop children revisited previous learning on sound. They watched experiments showing how sound is made and how vibrations travel.
One pupil said, "It was fun yet very educational." Another pupil commented, "It taught me amazing things about sound which I didn't know."
After a short walk down to the Council House, Julie, our guide told us lots of interesting facts about it. Did you know that there is a lift that was installed to carry King George V? Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to sit in the Lord Mayor's seat and shout ORDER!
Finally we visited the Art Gallery and looked around the 'History of Birmingham display' and the Staffordshire hoard before returning to school.
We were all exhausted after a long day but enjoyed ourselves immensely.
