As part of our science unit learning about minibeasts and habitats Phase 3/4 went on a trip to Conkers.
We took part in a Ranger led tour which involved being told about the history of Conkers and the animals that live there, a walk through the woods where we could investigate the pond, wetlands and woodlands. Also the messiest activity, taking part in pond dipping.
We then had the opportunity to visit the indoor facilities which included the Discovery Centre where the children could interact with many different exhibits including looking at the effects of exercise on the heart, the way the brain functions and using binoculars to look at a model of a spider and a bat.
All the children had fun and the visit was very successful, developing the children's understanding of the different habitats that animals live in.
