A Typical Day

School Hours  - Compulsory Hours

We are open for 32.55 hours a week for Reception and KS1

We are open for  33.20 hours for KS2

Assemblies:

 

Monday- Mission Assembly

Led by SLT, Mission Assemblies are where children listen to the Sunday Gospel reading and have its meaning and importance shared.

 

Tuesday- Key Stage 2 Assembly

Often led by Mrs Madia, the Key Stage assemblies are an opportunity to focus on a topic the children must be aware of.

 

Thursday- Key Stage 1 Assembly

Again, a chance for Mrs Madia to discuss areas of school life that are relevant for the younger pupils.

 

Friday-Gifts of God Assembly

Staff nominate children for a 'Special Mention' where pupils are given a badge in recognition of their efforts in the previous week.

 

Once a week, classes partake in collective worship and share a prayer service. Children will also take part in a virtual Mass on a Wednesday, with one year group in attendance.

Morning learning

 

Maths and English.

Length of lessons are depend on teacher discretion and the content of lessons.  Key Stage One will also have a separate Phonics lesson.

 

Afternoon Learning

 

R.E. Taught for 2 1/2 hrs a week (This constitutes 10% of the children's curriculum time)

History/ Geography taught weekly

Science taught weekly

RHE taught in half hour slots

Latin taught in half hour slots

Computing is taught in allocated slots

P.E. is taught twice a week- one session is led by our sport's coach
