At the end of September, members of Year 6 and four staff (Mr Jordan, Mr Poole, Miss Clarke-Pitcher and Miss Gallagher) traveled to Alton Castle in Staffordshire for a religious retreat for three days and two nights. The centre, run by the Kenelm Youth Trust, provided a fantastic opportunity for team building and reflection on faith.
Each of the children participated in a range of activities such as rock climbing, hiking, survival skills, archery, night walks and even a midnight feast or two. Everyone loved a chance to both test their skills and even tackle some fears too!
Whilst at Alton Castle, children took responsibly for preparation of lunches and equipment and were positive in their support and encouragement of each other.
At the end of each day, quiet time was spent in prayer and on the final night, each one of us celebrated our achievements through a leaving mass and a disco with party games.
