10 October 2007
The Arty-Fact Theatre Company visited our school on October 10th to give a performance of 'The Return of the Ruin'. The visit formed part of the children's Excellence and Enjoyment curriculum, linking theatre with history.
This was a highly entertaining, informative production which was thoroughly enjoyed by the children and staff. Pupils were actively involved throughout, having an opportunity to dress up, and were made to feel part of the lively, colourful production. The children were invited to follow the path of the archaeologists along a time line from Ancient Greece through Ancient Egypt to Ancient Rome!
The props, costumes and scenery were spectacular. Performers were very professional and enthusiastic, providing very useful questions and answers at the end. The theatre company provided the school with a professionally set out CD to use in the classroom, as a motivational teaching aid.
