Blessing our New Classrooms and Offices

17 May 2017

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock." Matthew 7: 24-27

On Wednesday 17th May 2017 the Right Reverend Robert Byrne, Auxillary Bishop of Birmingham visited our school to bless our new classrooms and offices.

First the school gathered together in the hall for a Prayer Service which was written and led by the Catholic Life Group. We started with our school hymn and then Courtney welcomed Bishop Robert to our school. We listened to the Gospel Reading of the Two Builders and Year 4 had the privilege of being able to act out the gospel in the form of a story with Ciaran, Lily and Padraig reading the story, whilst Olivia and Siciniseko acted the part of the two builders.

Afterwards, symbols were brought to the prayer focus, these included; a rock, Bible, Chalice, Crucifix and Rosary Beads. We sang together the wise man built his house upon the rock and prayed for the architect, Mr Leadbetter and our wonderful builders. Bishop Byrne and Father John visited the new classrooms and offices, accompanied by the altar servers Sister Susan and some of our Governors.

It was a happy and joyful occasion for the school in thanksgiving for the new build and to look forward to the school's future where we live, love and learn together.
