Our choir visited the Royal Star and Garter in Solihull to sing for the residents to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of The Battle of the Somme.
Before the trip the children researched some information about the First World War and in particular the Battle of the Somme .
After singing for the residents the children participated in the Prayer Service to commemorate the Battle of the Somme. The residents were delighted to see and hear the children.
We received a letter from the family of the one of the residents commenting: 'the children sang beautifully, the instrumentalists were first class, the children were immaculately turned out and their kindness and well-mannered approach to all was a credit to them, their parents and your school'.
