Free Radio Christmas Stars

7 November 2014

On the 7th of November 2014, our school choir sang proudly for Free Radio, as they recorded our entry 'Love Shone Down' for their Christmas Stars Competition for young Choirs all over Birmingham.

Free Radio accepted our entry and our song was played on their station 18th of November and we went through to the semi-finals. To help increase the amount of our votes, our choir travelled to the Wheat Sheaf shops in Sheldon, the Swan Shopping Centre in Yardley, Heartlands Hospital and St Pauls' School Vernon Road, bringing all of this joy to the hearts of others.

Our choir sang brilliantly and we received positive e-mails from several people, one person thought, 'St Thomas More's choir was the best, for various reasons. I really thought your choir was lovely, really sweet tuneful voices. lovely soloists and beautiful harmonies! And such a lovely song. Congratulations - I hope you get to the Final.'

Sadly we did not receive enough votes to get to the final and we were out of the competition. During our time in the competition, St Thomas More Catholic Choir enjoyed the experience of the Free Radio Christmas Stars Event, 2014.
