Harvest Mass

26 September 2012

Celebrate the harvest festival to honour the Lord your God,
be joyful in the Lord's presence
. Deuteronomy 16:10-11

Father John celebrated our annual Harvest Mass on the 26th September 2012.

At the beginning of Mass Father John blessed the Year 5 children's Gardens of Eden. These had been made the previous week during their RE Inspire Workshop. We were very pleased that the children's parents could join them for this special blessing.

Deacon David read the Gospel and in the homily explained that we are the stewards of God's creation, therefore it is up to each of us to help look after and protect our world. If we take this responsibility seriously then there will be enough food for all of the world to share.

He also asked us to consider what we can SHARE with those less fortunate.

We were delighted that Sister Sabina and Kitty O'Reilly were able to join us once again, as the children and parents of our school were very generous in their donations of food for the homeless people of our city.
