Cut, stick, paste, snip, laugh and have fun! That's what all the parents did when Key Stage 1 ran a brilliant desigh Technology Workshop linked to their theme of 'Houses'.
We regularly hold workshops for parents because it allows special one to one interaction in a school setting with thier child. The children, parents and staff all benefit from an informal morning linked to a specific learning objective.
At the end of each day's session, all of the children had made thir own model house to the designs that they had worked on in class. The workshop was the penultimate stage of the design process; in the afternoon, the children evaluated their models to see what worked well and how they would improve them in the future.
In response to our parents' evaluation, asking what they would like to do in the future, parents said:
We'll see what we can do!
