Maths Workshop

5 June 2009

On Friday 5th June the new Reception children starting in September were invited to a special 'Number Workshop' to celebrate Maths and Science Week.

The aims of the workshop were to build on the relationship between parents and the school working together and increase parental involvement in children's number skills at home and at school.

The children had lots of fun decorating and making number games with their parents for them to share at home. Miss McGrory fully enjoyed working alongside the parents and children to make numbers fun and exciting!

Here are some of the comments from the parents who attended:

  • "It was a lovely morning. The hard part was getting her to leave."
  • "Such a good idea to invite the new Reception children so they get use to the environment."
  • "Very good. He enjoyed putting the stickers on the socks to match."
  • "Very enjoyable. Well organised. Excellent refreshments. Fantastic- can't wait for the next one."
  • "Really enjoyed the workshop. Thought it was very useful and great ideas and activities to use at home."
