Rosary Making Workshop

6 and 15 October 2015

In the month of October dedicated to the Holy Rosary, a group of Key Stage 2 children came together after school to make their own Rosary beads and also a Rosary for the sick and housebound of our parish. This was organised by the Year 6 Catholic Life Group and Miss Ryan.

The children had lots of coloured beads, in different shades to choose from, red, green, pink blue, purple and yellow. When they had chosen which ones to use they had to carefully count the beads out to make sure they had the correct number. They also had to make their own cross to go onto the Rosary.

All the children and helpers made two sets of rosary beads, all different and unique.

At the end of our workshop we prayed a decade of the Rosary using our own beads. We thought about all the sick and lonely people in the world and we asked Mary our Mother to be with them and to comfort them.

Father John was delighted to receive over twenty Rosaries that would be taken to members of the parish who cannot come to Church.
