School Open Morning

27 September 2007

On Thursday the 27th September we celebrated our school with our first ever Open Morning. This was an opportunity for prospective parents, current parents and parishoners to find out what we are all about!

The morning started with a fantastic assembly by Year 2, all about Noah's Ark. Lots of people came to watch and they were very impressed by the children's brilliant speaking, acting and singing.

Sister Susan, helped by members of our school council, conducted several tours during the morning, answering lots of questions about the school and pointing out lots of impressive work that was happening.

Our visitors saw us: loving literacy; marvelling at maths; adoring art; moving to music; hearing about history; revelling in religion; posturing in PE; skipping through science; goggling about geography and immersed in ICT! We were all enjoying ourselves.

At the end of the tours our PTA had biscuits and drinks available for our visitors whilst they filled in an evaluation of their visit. Here are a few of their comments:

What was your overall impression of the school?

"The Catholicity of the school and charming staff and the children's obvious enjoyment of learning is great."

"Would love to be a pupil again."

"Wonderful. Helpful children very well behaved. All children very smart."

"I was really impressed with the entire school."

"Thought it was lovely, lots of room allocated for the children with lots of support from staff and equipment."

Would you consider sending your child to our school?

"Yes definitely" "Yes" "Definitely" "Definitely" "Yes"

"Yes definitely" " Definitely" "Yes" "Yes absolutely" "Oh Yes"

It was a great success and we look forward to our next Open Event.
