Summer Art Workshops

May 2008

Due to popular demand Mrs McGrory and Miss Petcher held two after school art workshops on Monday 12th and Monday 19th May 2008. The theme for the workshops was 'Fun with Foam'. Parents were invited to participate and support their children during these fun filled workshops. The evaluations sheets showed that those who attended enjoyed the activities and had a fabulous time.

These are some the comments from the children and parents:

"I really liked what I created in the art workshop, it was super duper".
Joseph aged 7

"I really enjoyed making the picture frame, Joseph discovered his talent for sewing. Simple and uncomplicated, very creative".
Joseph's Mum

"I enjoyed making the picture frame and sticking on the animals and I am going to put a picture of my two dogs in it".
Thomas aged 7

"The workshop is very creative and a fantastic place to be".
Elena aged 7

"The sewing activity was made easy by having big needles and pre-punched holes".
Elena's Mum

When asked what parents and children would like to see in future workshops these were some of the comments:

"I would have liked it to be longer and maybe making models in clay and use a potter's wheel".

"More art classes in sewing and no glue ever again!"

"More of these art classes please, possibly drawing or painting workshops".

As a result of these evaluations future art workshops will be planned and dates posted on the website.
