Walk of Witness

28 March 2013

"Jesus went out carrying his cross and came to Golgotha. There they crucified him."

As part of our Year of Faith Celebrations the children, staff and parents took a walk of witness to St Giles, our local Church.

We met in our school hall where Father John blessed all our home made crosses. Along the way the children held their homemade crosses as a sign that our faith is really important to us . We prayed the five sorrowful mysteries of the rosary and sang appropriate hymns . Year 6 enacted the crucifixion in St Giles Church.

On arriving back to school we watched an extract from Jesus of Nazareth and remembered that Jesus died on the cross for us because he loves us so much.

Thank you to all the parents who were able to help chaperone the children safely to St Giles Church and back.
