World Book Day

4 March 2011

At St. Thomas More Catholic School we really enjoy World Book Day and this year was no different. We had our usual Scholastic Book Fair which was visited by many and enjoyed by all during the week as classes visited it to peruse the books.

Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 had their own fashion show fiesta to celebrate characters and a reading afternoon with parents proved to be very enjoyable.

On World Book Day children dressed up as their favourite characters and brought in the accompanying books. All types of characters could be seen around school! Luke was spotted as Horrid Henry tip toeing out of Reception class whatever he could have been up to! Perhaps looking for Perfect Peter of Moody Margaret!

Children took part in lots of enjoyable activities to celebrate this memorable day and we hope they take this enjoyment and love of books into their reading at school and home.
