Year 1 RE Inspire Workshop

14 April 2016

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; for He has risen, just as he said." (Matthew 28:5-6)

On Thursday 14th April, the Year 1 children joined with parents and friends for our Easter RE Inspire workshop.

The workshop began with a prayer and then some children from Year 2 talked to us about the importance of the Paschal Candle about how it is lit on Easter Sunday to represent Jesus's Resurrection.

We worked together to make our own Paschal Candles. We used card, paper, decorative flowers, pins and an Alpha and Omega symbol to show God's love never ends., to construct our candles. They were placed on our Easter prayer focus area back in our classrooms.

We had a wonderful time creating our candles and were very proud of our work and the support we received.

Our workshop ended with a beautiful prayer that helped us reflect on the true meaning of Easter.
