To further their knowledge of ocean life, Year 3/4 travelled to Birmingham Sea Life Centre.
As part of the 'Blue Abyss' topic, they have researched and reported on different sea creatures including Megalodon shark, seals and a range of crustaceans. They have been able to experience how the centre supports breeding and conservation programmes. The children observed the amazing range of sea life fish, mammals, reptiles and enemies at very close quarters.
They were able to go behind the scenes at the centre to see how they feed, research and support endangered species.
The children were able to ask a range of questions to the tour guide and share their knowledge from their research. Whilst exploring the many different areas the children especially enjoyed; touching different star fish, seeing string rays and jelly fish close up, observing the Gentoo Penguins being fed, walking through the ocean tunnel and watching magnificent turtles and sharks swim above and below them and experiencing the 4D cinema that took us to the amazon using our senses.
The children thoroughly enjoyed this day trip and they could share lots of interesting facts they had learnt.
