8 May 2013
On Wednesday 9th May 2013, Year 3 children, staff and Father John visited Harvington Hall for a beautiful pre-Communion, Year of Faith Retreat.
The Tudor Manor is owned by the diocese and contains seven known priest hides. Visiting the hall was not only an exciting and enjoyable day, but the perfect opportunity to reflect upon the sacrifice that others have made to safeguard the precious gift of Holy Eucharist, not least our own Patron St Thomas More.
During the day, the children received a detailed guided tour including the opportunity to climb into an ingeniously disguised priest hide (Dr Dodd's Library). We followed this with a joyous celebration of Mass led by Father John.
The day concluded with a true treasure hunt, in which the children found and spelt the letters naming the precious gift of the Holy Eucharist, which they will receive on Saturday 8th June 2013. We can't wait!
