"The Royal line of David is like a tree that has been cut down, but just as new branches sprout from a stump, so a new King will arise from among David's descendants."
Year 4 have enjoyed creating Jesse Trees in our RE Inspire Workshop.
In class we have learnt the stories of Jesus' ancestors and how a Jesse tree represents the lineage of Jesus. We created 3D Jesse Trees using wire and paper mache then while this dried we created symbols to hang on the Jesse tree. We followed this up with painting the tree in class and adding leaves.
We enjoyed learning the story of King David. We identified similarities between David's Kingship and that of Jesus: David was a poor shepherd boy who was anointed as King in the town of Bethlehem; Jesus was born in Bethlehem to a poor family and as Christ the King he became our shepherd.
We have really enjoyed sharing our RE work with our parents and families. They really enjoyed working with us too.
"I really enjoyed the workshop because it was fun for me and my Dad to spend time together making the Jesse tree."
"I liked it because it was very messy!"
"Hard, but really fun for me and my Dad."
"I enjoyed making my Jesse Tree because it was a special time with my family."
"I liked spending my time helping my friends."
"I really enjoyed the workshop because I got to spend time with my sister."
