Librarians and Reading Champions

Mrs Sullivan and Mr Jordan lead our Librarians and Reading Champions. Reading is very important at Saint Thomas More School. We are very proud of our reading corners in the classrooms and the reading 'pop up' areas around school! Our reading champions promote reading for please around school and help keep the areas tidy and attractive.

 

We have a reading club on every day that the children can freely come to; we have our school 'recommended' books, themed books around important and relevant subject matter and even a reading 'swap shop' where children can choose a book to take home and can bring in books that they no longer want at home.

 

Our reading buddies support our younger children with decoding and comprehension and we all get SO excited for our bedtime reading events and world book day! All of these events are made easier because of our reading champions!

 

We have a real love of reading at STM! We even get to vote for our class read aloud book! On our classroom doors you will be able to see which book we are reading in our English lesson.
