Year 4 is made up of two classes. They uphold the school mission
’Christ is the centre of our School community, where we live, love and learn together’
We work hard and uphold high standards in a caring loving environment.
This is the message St. Thomas More Catholic Primary school upholds and promotes to its children and community.
Alcester heritage centre trip for Year 4
During our Roman topic the children in Year 4 got the opportunity to attend a trip to Alcester heritage centre. The children were excited and loved having the chance to research real life Roman artefacts. They explored a museum having the chance to build mosaics and play games that the Romans would have played.
A Roman solider was on hand to explain the weapons a warrior would have used. Once they had spoken to the Roman solider, they were able to try on the helmets and hold the shields pretending that they were part of the Roman Empire.
The children had a wonderful time and learnt a lot about the Roman topic.
During November Mrs Shakespear organised for members of the armed forces to visit the school. School council members had the opportunity to speak to them in a small group and thank them for their service. Some children in Year 4 assisted Mrs Shakespear in the creating of the poppy display highlighting the importance of remembering the people who have served this country. The military personal gave a whole school assembly showing their different skills and knowledge to the children. They also thanked the school for the fundraising that we had done for their military hospital.
